Position Summary
The Payroll Clerk supports StudioPost Sound operations by managing and processing complex payroll activities related to union and non-union labor within a post-production environment. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate labor allocation, compliance with union agreements, and timely processing of payroll-related workflows. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working cross-functionally with managers, operations staff, and HR.
Job Responsibilities
· Manage allocation of Sound Department variable labor, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness, including:
o Collecting, reviewing, validating, and actualizing operator logs and work orders
o Entering and maintaining labor hours within Timekeeper
o Allocating labor hours to appropriate charge numbers and projects
o Monitoring and responding to Timekeeper Bot reports to identify and resolve discrepancies
· Serve as a subject matter resource to managers regarding union rules, policies, and payroll implications, including:
o IATSE Local 700, Local 695 and Local 40 agreements
o OPEIU Local 174 agreements
· Submit and manage HR workflows related to daily hire onboarding and terminations, ensuring accuracy and adherence to internal procedures
· Track, audit, and process talent guarantees in accordance with contractual and payroll requirements
· Track and process union vacation and holiday pay, ensuring compliance with applicable agreements and company policy
· Set up and maintain resources and projects within ScheduALL, ensuring alignment with production schedules and payroll needs
· Investigate, address, and resolve payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner, partnering with Payroll, HR, and department managers as needed
· Serve as backup AP requisitioner – Processing invoices and creating POs in Purchase Manager as needed
· Prepare ad hoc reports and support special projects related to payroll, labor analysis, and operational improvements
Basic Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent
· 3+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a production or post-production environment
· Working knowledge of Timekeeper, ScheduALL, DocuSign, and myHR
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook, with the ability to manage data accurately and efficiently
