HEARING OFFICER’S REPORT AND RECOMMENDATION

REGARDING THE SUSPENSION AND TRUSTEESHIP


OF

LOCAL 174, OFFICE AND PROFESSIONAL EMPLOYEES

INTERNATIONAL UNION, AFL-CIO,

ISSUED JUNE 16, 2014

OPEIU Article XV Hearing Officer Walter Allen issued his Report and Recommendation Regarding the Suspension and Trusteeship of Local 174, on June 16, 2014.  After considering the testimony and other evidence,  he has reported his findings, conclusions, and recommendations to the OPEIU Executive Board, and simultaneously has provided a copy of his report to the Trustee of Local 174 to be made available to the membership of Local 174.

Any person(s) who were or are active members of Local 174 during the suspension have the right to file, within two (2) weeks after receipt of the Notice of the Hearing Officer’s report, objections in writing setting forth the reasons why the Report should be rejected or adopted. The Executive Board shall consider the Report and any objections, adopt such findings and conclusions as it deems reasonable and proper in the circumstances, and provide notice of its findings and conclusions to the above-mentioned active members of Local 174.

If you wish to review the Report and Recommendation and the official transcript of  and the exhibits presented at the Hearing,  you will need to make an appointment to review those documents by completing the online form here. You will receive an email telling you when you may review the documents.  If you cannot conduct your review at the appointed time, please indicate that by email and you will be contacted to schedule another time for your review.

Any objection must be made in writing, including your name, personal address, telephone number, email and the name of your bargaining unit and your specific reasons to reject or adopt the Report.  Objections may be submitted via email to: info@opeiu174.org, subject line:  “Article XV Written Appeal”, or by mail or personal delivery to: 178 S. The deadline for receiving any written appeal is July 1, 2014 by 4:30 p.m. PDT.
